Not everyone in my family likes salmon so I was looking for a way to make salmon taste less fishy. The solution was a marinate followed by a flavorful glaze. I served with sautéed baby bok choy and basmati rice. I like to wrap the salmon with some rice in some nori snack sheets to eat this.
Ingredients:
For the Marinade
2 tbsps olive oil
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Glaze
1 tbsp gochujang
2 tbsps honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2-4 salmon fillets
Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallions
Optional nori snack sheets for serving
Combine all of the ingredients for the marinade in a sealable bag and add the salmon fillets. Marinade for 30 minutes. Preheat your broiler on high. Cover a wire rack with aluminum foil and then add the salmon fillets and all of the extra marinade on top. You may want to place the rack in a baking sheet to prevent the marinade running off. Broil the fish for 7-9 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillets. If the skin is on, you can flip the fish half way through to get a crisp on the skin.
When the fish is cooked to your liking, pour the glaze over the fish and place back under the broiler for 1 minute. To serve, sprinkle with toasted sesame and scallions and serve.
