The Best Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip

Every year for the Superbowl I make some sort of tasty dish or three for my husband to take to my cousin's.  Last year, I made wings and everyone was going nuts over them saying they were the best they had ever had so I recreated them again this year to make sure it wasn't a fluke.  They were awesome. Wings are pretty basic and you can't do too much to them before they no longer taste like buffalo wings.  You start out thinking these are healthy since I do bake them but then I add butter and this decadent dipping sauce.  Baking them is really just easier, less messy, and gives consistent cripsy skin.

Ingredients for wings:
2 packages of chicken wingettes (if you can only find wings you can cut them)
Creole seasoning
1 cup of hot sauce (I like half Crystal Hot Sauce and Half Frank's Red Hot)
2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 stick of butter
3 cloves of garlic, grated

Preheat the oven to 425.  Season wings lightly with creole seasoning.  place the wings skin side up on a wire rack with a rimmed baking sheet underneath.  Bake for 30 minutes.  Turn over and bake on the other side for 20 minutes.  Turn one more time to skin side up and bake for 15 more minutes (turn the heat up to 450 if the skin has not browned enough). Meanwhile, mix hot sauce and Worcestershire in a large bowl.  Place butter in a microwave safe dish and grate garlic (with a microplane if possible) over the butter.  Microwave on high for 1 minute.  Stir and microwave for 30 seconds more.  Mix the butter into the hot sauce mixture and stir to combine.  Toss cooked, crisp, warm wings in the sauce when you are ready to serve.

Ingredients for dipping sauce:
1/2 cup blue cheese or gorgonzola, crumbled
1/2 cup mayonaise
1/2 cup of sour cream
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp of hot sauce
1/2 tsp of salt
About 30 grinds of pepper or to taste

Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and stir to combine. Serve alongside the wings.  This dip makes a great dressing.  Add milk to thin if necessary.
